General Experience
Managerial — Just before Covid hit I had been promoted to Manager of my department at Judge Sampson, but Covid sadly left me managing not much more than myself! Despite this, it’s increased my self-management exponentially to better meet targets, exceed expectations and reflect on any inefficiencies holding us back.
Board/Materials — Great Knowledge of qualities, types and suppliers.
Colour — Through my own artistic practice and working with customers I understand colour profiles, colour spaces and how to best match what we see on-screen.
Design — I pride myself on my flexibility and my perfectionist mentality. My portfolio reflects this.
Branding — Throughout my design career I’ve needed to be flexible and quick at learning to appreciate many different flavours of client branding. An eye for perfection and a knack for picking up things quickly has left me adept at retaining brand qualities. A position in the Marketing team at Identity has given me front-line experience on retaining brand standards, as every post I design needs to be spot on. It’s also put me in a good position to build the brand and evolve it as the company grows.
Attitude — I’m currently training as an MHFA (Mental Health First Aider). This is a subject I consider very important in the workplace, for reasons I’d love to divulge over an interview.

Professional Experience
Graphic Designer • Identity May 2021 to Present. Eastbourne.
Placed on the Marketing team, I’ve been supporting in creating Marketing & Sales material such as photography, case studies, videos and presentations. I’ve been a crucial part in developing the internal monthly magazine, The Brief, which combines the companies efforts into 20 pages of expertly-designed motivational newsletter. The projects I get the opportunity to work on range from small internal leaflets to projections on the Glasgow SEC during COP26. I support the Creative team when their workload overflows, as well as internal requests such as signage, presentations, floorplans, etc. The projects I’m involved in touch on a wide array of skills, including 3D work, Photography, Video, Adobe Illustrator/InDesign/Photoshop/Premiere, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, light Web Design using XD, HubSpot and WordPress.
Design and Pre-Press Manager • Judges (Formerly Judges Postcards), April 2018 to May 2021. Hastings.
I started at Judges as Pre-Press Technician. In those 3 years I had become an essential part of the team, through my experience with print production, design and customer interaction. It was a small, close-knit team with our own specific skills and therefore communication was a priority to see through a job to the end in its best possible quality.
In early 2020 I was promoted to Manager of my department. Sadly, after many redundancies and staff on furlough (thank you Covid), I managed only my own workload. Even so, it’s given me invaluable insight into the workings of a small — yet international — business under the most demanding of circumstances.
AutoCAD Technician • Bespoke Design & Fabrications LTD. 2011. 2016 to 2018. Bexhill.
I used AutoCAD to turn architects sketches, measurements from surveys and component ideas into functional 2D drawings. These would be reworked many times in correspondence with the architect to reach a structure we were confident with and conformed to all regulations to a tight project schedule. I’ve returned to working with this company on numerous short-term or freelance occassions.
Replenishment team — Nightshift • Waitrose. 2015 to 2016. Burgess Hill.
Responsibilities included a great amount of communication with the team, working under pressure to a nightly schedule and in a fast-paced environment, as well as keeping the work environment to a clean and precise standard.
Print Intern • Hato Press. 2015. London, Hoxton.
An internship for a Printing/Designing/Publishing company specialising in small publications and artwork. Responsibilities included good knowledge of the software involved, close working with printing machinery (primarily Riso printers) and a good eye for detail.
Freelance Illustrator/Photographer/Designer. 2012 onwards.
My own self-run business. This is where my knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and the Creative Suite stems from, as it is in frequent use.

My Personality
I trust in established techniques, materials and ideas. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not stuck in my ways or in any way cynical, but I like to use tried and tested methods and adapt them to our modern way of living. I’m very committed to making new from old, and only shop second-hand (if its lasted the past 30 years, it’ll last the next 10, right?). In the past is our future, and we didn’t get to where we are today without a bit of old-fashioned innovation.
In my spare time you’ll find me tinkering on a new bike project (much to the malaise of my partner who already has to share our flat with 10+ bikes and a lounge that closer resembles a garage), poking through Hastings Old Town snapping photos or twirling my moustache on Beachy Head, struggling for breath after trying to beat my last personal best in cycling.
In me you’ll see someone who smiles at any challenge and turns it into an opportunity. I find it very difficult to make enemies and very easy to make friends.
I’d have to tell you that I’m an extroverted introvert, think of that what you will.
